Medical Services
Summary
Medical clinics are held Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays mornings and Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. However, the Clinic is open Monday through Friday and many activities occur on non-clinic days including processing prescription refills, chart reviews, referrals for hospital services and specialty practices, accessing free medications, patient correspondence, chart preparation, accounting, donor management, meetings, and many office tasks.
The following specific services are the lifeline for providing outpatient health care to approximately 1000 low-income, uninsured patients each year.
- Chronic Care Clinic held Tuesday and Wednesday mornings serves patients with complex problems
- General Medical Clinic held Wednesday evenings offers both acute and chronic outpatient care
- Specialty Clinics include gynecology, nephrology, gastroenterology, orthopedic, cardiology and mental health
- Licensed pharmacy services provided Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and Wednesday evenings
- Medication Assistance gives patients access to free medications from drug manufacturers
- Dental Clinic held each first and third Tuesday evening for extractions and referrals through the Dwight H. Shull Fund Voucher Program
- GAP offers referrals to chronically ill, stable patients for follow-up visits with their own community doctor
- Other services include social work, individualized patient education, medical lab, mental health diagnosis and referrals, nursing assessment, and nutrition consultation.
